Afghanistan: The bare desolate highlands.
Cycling through Islamic countries was often not very pleasant for a young woman. In spite of the fact that I was escorted, very often I was considered as "free game" by the men. A desolate plateau without people often was a relieve for me.
In Afghanistan, the most fundamentalistic Islamic country, the men were, however, correct and polite towards me. A lonely highland without people often was a relieve for me. However, in Afghanistan, the most fundamentalistic Islamic country, the men were correct and polite to me.
